Oil landscapes

Howth, Ireland 2000

Oil painting 2000.

Howth marked a before and after. I began many things in my life there; I felt nature, I connected with it. Without a doubt, a milestone in my life—alone, with my backpack full of life and energy to share.

It captures you.

The sea abducts you; each wave hypnotizes your being, just like when we gaze into fire. A moment in time that can last a lifetime.

Iceland, 2018

Icebreak.
Iceland, road trip. Spring 2018.
Loose watercolor on Arches paper 300gr.

As the name suggests, Iceland, land of ice. I've never seen so much snow; dreamlike moments. One of the greatest adventures my life, which, like ice, breaks into different parts.

Studies

John Singer Sargent, 2022

Study of his self-portrait (1906)

What an inspirational reference.

He was considered the "leading portrait painter of his generation". Agile brushstroke.  He created roughly 900 oil paintings and more than 2,000 watercolors, as well as countless sketches and charcoal drawings.

Unique.

Phoebe, 2023.

Oil on board.
Color and composition study from the iconic picture of Josh Cole.

Fleabag's success, PWB surrounded by Emmys. Well deserved. Genius.

Emma Zorn, reading

Color study of one of the masterpieces of Anders Zorn: Emma Zorn reading (1887).

It has been a breakthrough in my learning all these exploration into the colours using the so called Zorn palette - Cadmium Red, Black, Yellow Ochre and Titanium White

Less is more, always.
